Hello everyone! My name is Melissa Helphrey. I am in my last year at Florida State University, studying Criminology and Pyschology. I am originally from the Florida Keys which is a group of islands, south of Miami, FL. I hope to work in child services for the state and advocate for children within a court setting as a career.
Being a Criminology major, technology was used limited. In an educational setting, I have used powerpoints, Canvas, smart boards, Kahoot, and Iclicker Reef App (attendance taking.) I am currently enrolled in IDS2141, where I will be using more technology. This class takes present in the Innovation Hub here at FSU. In IDS2141, we will use 3D printing, Virtual Reality, Raspberry Pi, and explore emerging technology. I am looking forward to learning new and emerging technology.
In this class, EME2040, I hope to gain a better concept on Excel. Being able to input data will be important for me in my future. It will help me stay more organized and inputing data will be necessay when working with multiple case studies in a court setting. I also am excited to blog! Writing down information and even thoughts and or opinions is a great way to connect with other students!
Hi Melissa! It seems that we had a similar experience with the use of techonology in our education.
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa! I like your career goal because I am also interested in working with the youth once I graduate from FSU.
ReplyDeleteHey Melissa,
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you, I think technology is limited through out all career fields.
Hello Melissa! First, I'd like to say congratulations on almost graduating! Also, I too am excited to learn about different software that hasn't been used as often as Twitter or Facebook. I never heard of Raspberry Pi as you mentioned in your blog and it is innovative software that excites me, because it shows the various possibilities to communicate in a PLN and as a teacher. It was nice to read a little bit about you!
